To have a successful relationship a foundation must be built. There are in fact some elements that a foundation can not be built on otherwise it will fail. I like to think of the story of the 3 little pigs in reference to this. One can build a foundation out of straw, sticks, or bricks. Remember that there is a big bad wolf whose objective is to destroy what was built to get to the pigs. Think of everything that is trying to destroy your relationship; people, circumstances, or anything negative. This is the wolf.
The first house was built out of straw. Straw represents lies and lack of loyalty and trust. If you try to build a foundation out of this than the wolf will huff and puff and blow it down, easily. Sticks represent the lack of self progression. You can’t build a foundation with another if you are stuck in your ways. If you try to, the wolf will surely destroy it sooner or later. Brick is a very solid material when it comes to building. Brick represents hard work, loyalty, love, trust, respect and all things that make a relationship strong. If a foundation is built out of brick, the wolf will try his hardest to destroy it but will fail. You have built a foundation so solid that it will be successful. My goal is to build with bricks, not straw or sticks!
“If it’s not real, you can’t hold it in your hand, you can’t feel it with your heart. And I won’t believe it. But if it’s true, you can see it with your eyes, even in the dark. And that’s where I want to be.” – Paramore

I love the story the analogy of a foundation has to be very strong. We just happened to be standing upon the shoulders of some courageous, beautiful, magical people who built upon the blood sweat and tears of a glorious ancestry over thousands of years
